WaterAid and Postcolonial identities.
Colonisation is the process of importing ones' culture and giving to another. Taking over another country.
WaterAid Advert
We get satisfaction from donating to WaterAid, by helping someone else that's lesser than us. The mise-en-scene shows that Claudia is poorer than us because there isn't any cars/houses on the "road".
Claudia's costumes aren't too rough however they aren't the best and she is wearing pumps and not barefoot. This advert positions us as a middle class British. We get satisfaction from donating. We get a sense of responsibility to help Africa. There is a Binary Oppression in this advert which creates division between 'us' and 'them'.
