purpose of newspaper = to get a exciting response from the audience . 
representation is create by media language, visual codes, technical codes, audio codes etc.


 how to answer a question about representation :
Point - group being represent, might be place or issue. A sentence or two max. 
Evidence - how does the media language present the group?
Argument - what message is being said about the group? what ideology perspective 
Impact- how does it impact the audience

  • bossiness model is to outrage the audience 







the way the newspaper wrote about women objectifies them and really exaggerates their physical figure. For example the story about Andy Whyment, she is walking with her daughter but she is sexualised. Words choice such as 'showcases' and 'taunt' suggests she is doing it for attention.

Analysis of a chosen scene

 Task  1. List the Media Language (mise-en-scene, editing, Cinematography etc.) that constructs meaning in the scene 2. Identify the preferred reading and the dominant ideology of the scene (e.g. 'a deliberately confusing and distressing ideology that positions the audience uncomfortably') 3.
