Tide advert 1950s

It become the brand leader in America, which means it was the most popular brand. It was a cross media because it used print advertising and radio advertising. A popular constant character used in the most of the adverts, ' tide housewife'.  Ideology = the values and beliefs of the producer. Mode of Address: How the product speaks to its audience, it can be done through costumes, lexis, editing. The colour red could have been red for love however in this case  the love hearts make us believe that it is for love. The mode of address is talking to women. 'You Women' directing at women which is the primary audience. It's very collective and suggesting that every women needs tide. The sue of ! makes it more exciting and loud, it sets the tone. It's suggesting that if they don't buy tide you're not a women. The font is passive aggressive, and it looks hand painted which makes it friendly and nicer. Proairetic Codes: Also known as action codes, this refers to something within a media products that suggests that something will happen.
